NU VISIONS Abroad departs for the Philippines
Follow our 15 student, faculty and staff during our service-learning experience in the village of Kawit near Cebu in the Medillin Province of the Philippines from December 24 through January 10.
This marks the first of four planned trips, thanks to the generous support of the Tawani Foundation).
You can track our team as we meet our hosts, perform a needs assessment for the village and work on short-term service projects following the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan. You can also learn more about Dr. Arlington Pond, a Norwich alum who built a hospital in Kawit following the Spanish-American War at the turn of the 19th century. Our current reconnaissance visit will help our team and our hosts determine how NU can best assist the village with sustainable service projects over the next four years.
Stay posted on our travels and work and wish our team a safe and productive trip!
